Question 5

Question 6

GoAnimate.com: Question 6 by 30058881

Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Throughout constructing this product I have managed to utilise many different technologies. I have used programmes such as, InDesign to put my page together, Photoshop to create different components to include on my music magazine.
InDesign allowed me to create my magazine, to make it look professional and ordered. I have learnt that you can make a very specific colour scheme, by using the colour picker, and using that to create effects on pictures, shaped and type. Photoshop allowed me to create a sticker, to attract the importance of the interview, and my masthead and logo, to add in the colours to the font.
I have also progressed in the picture taking and editing, as you have to use professional settings, and the correct lighting to create the desired look of the images used in my magazine, also to uploading and formatting the photos on different programmes to create the desired effects.
Using these programmes allowed my outcome to be professional and clean cut, as it allowed me to add effects to add interest on many different components.
This has not only allowed me to see how the technologies are used throughout the magazine industry, and consider them in my work, but also to see the importance of these technologies.
In the magazine industry the use of the high tech programmes, allow the companies to create their pages fast, accurately and produce many different variations with ease. This allows the creating of the magazines to be done much more professionally and can meet short deadlines, without having to compromise on the preference or briefs, as the pages are easily tweaked, and can create many variations and make a preferred judgement, to the best outcome for the magazine.

Question 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Referring back to my IPC case study, I feel that IPC is a relevant company for my music magazine. This is because IPC produce over 60 iconic media brands, with print alone, which is the way that I want to publish my music magazine in print. IPC bring in a total of 26 million UK adults, which is very helpful, seeming as my music magazine will be basing its topics about the UK top 40 playlist and celebrities.
IPC’S diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, which is perfect for concentrating on the huge strong audience of mainstream music, which is what IPC is most likely to publish.
IPC would be a very appropriate publisher for a new music magazine, the main reason is because they are a well-known, reliable corporation, and are easy to lean on because they have already been successful in the past, and are practised in the industry, allowing me to be a part of a strong competitor providing me with the existing  connections that include celebrities/bands, and advertising companies,  that can be in my magazine to make it look popular and well known attracting the needed audience to buy the magazine.

music magazine: finished double page spread

editing photo on iphoto.
adding effects to text.

Original photo.
This is my finished double page spread,
I have continued the colour scheme throughout,
to bring the whole magazine together,
I have also used the same font and effects on the type font,
I have have included a pull out quote, to give the audience a
taster of what the page is about.
I have also used the same 'Jasmine Munro' type to
show that this is the singer on the front page.
I also edited the image to boost the colours.
I have included the magazines logo 'bulletin' and incorporated the 3
main colours used in the logo into the title,
to show that the interview is only available with bulletin, and
tied in my style model by having the 3 circles,
making the background of the text more interesting,
and again adding the three main colours.

music magazine: double page spread style model

This is a double page spread by Billboard, so i am going to
take some ideas from this:

music magazine - contents page in the making

Today I have added the Top 40 charts,  and adding professional effects onto the text to make it stand out, i have also started to add the pages and descriptions to the page.
I have also removed the cut out image, as it reduced the professional and crisp look that
bilboard have.

music magazine - contents page in the making

Here I am colour picking from my
main image so that both pages tie in
with each other and look like they
are from the same magazine.
Here I have recreated the magazine title
for the logo, so that the name of the
magazine is throughout.

Here I have removed the background
of the picture on Photoshop,
so that when i place it on my contents
page it is on the the image of the
singer, so that it looks professional,
and matches Billlboard's.

Here is my contents page so far, i next need
to add al my pages and numbers,
also the top 40, which then i have to
add effects to the text to make
its look professional, and matches the
front cover.

music magazine - contents page style model

These three images are going to be used at the top of my page to add interest and to promote the popular artist even more to entice the readers,
This is the main image that I'm going to use and I'm going to cut around the image so that it is like my style model 'Billboard'.

music magazine - finished front cover

Here I have made a sticker
on photoshop,
to create a more professional look.

My finished magazine cover includes many of the music magazines codes and conventions.
I have followed my style model 'Billboard' by creating my masthead in the same. simple and crisp fashion,
I have also used the simple colour scheme, with 3 main colours and a mellow coloured image.
I have followed the yellow, blue and red throughout the front cover,
by the yellow taglines, blue shirt, and red sticker.
I have also used variations of fonts to add interest, and match my style model.
I have added the date and price by the barcode, to make all the information neat and compact.
My coverlines vary in size and colour to ad more interest and fit into the left third and not cover the image,
as well as fitting in with the lines of the background.
The tagline is under the masthead, small so it keeps the type tidy, in which i have put in a shadow effect,
to make it stand out.

music magazine - picture in photoshop

This was just to make sure that the light and skin looked good and professional.

music magazine - beginning of creating front cover

I am going to be making my front cover on 'InDesign'.
So far I have made my picture fit the frame to a high quality.
I am not going to be creating my masthead over the top, and my coverlines down the left third,
to then having my main coverline near the bottom.

music magazine -editing picture

Editing my photo on 'iPhoto'
I have edited this picture to remove the red eye.
I have also used the blemish fix to make a more professional look,  as it gives the 'perfect' skin for the beauty look.
I have then boosted the colours up 1 factor, to make it more bold and striking.
